Where light dances and vibration becomes visible.
Together with experimenta, dreiform is developing an exhibition that invites visitors to experience natural phenomena directly and discover them with all their senses.
The special exhibition ‘Natur.Schau.Spiele’ makes these phenomena tangible, in a realisation that touches, inspires and stays in the mind.
Three rooms filled with light, sound, movement, and insight.
Together with experimenta and a team of scientists and specialist planners, an exhibition concept is being developed that allows individual access to very different target groups - from children to specialist audiences.
The spatially flowing scenography is designed in such a way that visitors can explore the content independently and non-linearly: open experience paths, quiet zones and in-depth information levels enable different routes through the exhibition – depending on prior knowledge, interest or pace.
We want visitors to leave the exhibition with a new perspective on the world.Dr. Christian Sichau

Natural phenomena to touch, immerse and understand.
Making natural phenomena accessible and tangible – our goal was not just to share knowledge, but to let people experience it directly.Philipp Frank

Theme room: Visibile unconscious
Understanding through movement: Simply beautiful.
Understanding develops from the connection between action and effect.
This can be seen in the wave pendulum exhibit. Here gravity and rhythm dance to the beat of physics. Several pendulums - each with a precisely defined length - start simultaneously, and yet a fascinating game of synchronicity and displacement begins immediately.
The longer the pendulum, the more leisurely its movement. The result is a constantly changing pattern: a choreography of oscillation duration and frequency.
Theme room: Regulary beautiful
Worth knowing and touching
The third room contains exhibits on structural colors - colors that are not created by pigments, but by the finest surface structures.
A wall of pearls becomes a projection surface for rainbows. Peacock feathers and butterfly wings lose their color as soon as light penetrates them. What remains is amazement - and a new awareness of the subtleties of the world.
Theme room: Dark colorful
Modular exhibition kit system
In addition to the scenography, dreiform developed the concept for room and exhibit graphics, the design of the user interfaces and a catalogue for space-defining elements and exhibits that follow a modular structure.
What does that mean specifically?
Exhibits and scenography follow a clear structure: modular, easily adaptable and spatially scalable.
Paper-based seating landscapes, movable auroras, mobile walls - the exhibition remains in motion without losing its design clarity.
A comprehensive design manual brings together all modules and parameters - from the color and material concept to interaction principles. It forms the basis for further implementations - precise, reproducible, changeable and expandable.
Natural phenomena: analyse - translate - communicate
How can scientific content be designed in such a way that it arouses curiosity – even without prior knowledge?
The focus during conception and implementation is on people: their senses, their curiosity and their desire to understand connections. Content should be experiential – not abstract, but tangible.
The teams at experimenta and dreiform work closely together to analyse the needs and expectations of different visitors.
These perspectives form the basis for an exhibition design that is accessible to as many people as possible.
The experimenta and dreiform teams develop exhibits that invite discovery in an iterative process based on a thorough examination of scientific principles.
