Elke Hohmann & Sven Anders Wagner, ZRR
Elke, a graduate engineer in electrical engineering with an MBA in International Finance, brought her curiosity and passion for challenges first to the private sector and then for over two decades at the Chamber of Industry and Commerce, where she focused on innovation and digitalization. In 2021, she transitioned as department head for project management at the Zukunftsagentur Rheinisches Revier to actively shape structural change.
Sven, an economic geographer and organizational developer, has experience in transforming spaces and organizations. As project manager and cluster manager, he early on recognized the importance of networks for innovation. He led a business incubator, transforming it into a regional startup ecosystem, and initiated a municipal coworking space. Currently, he is developing an innovation ecosystem for Germany's largest structural transformation region at the Zukunftsagentur Rheinisches Revier.

What is your role in the area of (design for) transformation?
Elke: I'm head of the project development department at the Zukunftsagentur Rheinisches Revier. Our aim is to drive forward projects to support the transformation in close cooperation with the region.
Sven: I am responsible for innovation at the ZRR. We are building an innovation ecosystem with the entire team. You could also call us ecosystem builders.

Your mission in one sentence? What do you want to change? And why?
Elke: Our goal is to create a region that is sustainable and meets the needs of future generations.
Sven: We believe that an ecosystem creates new alliances through knowledge transfer and strong networks that generate added value and innovation

Elke: New faces, good conversations and inspiration.
Sven: "Out of the box" discussions and lots of creative approaches on how to tackle the transformation.
